Awesome beginning to July...

Just one day of it proved to be blazing hot -- thanks in part to the Double Fast Start promotion. Welcome to all the new NectrHeadz who joined the Rainforest over the weekend!

And greetings from Satellite Beach, FL. The surf is up and the fish are running. Late yesterday we were winding down and from the balcony saw excitement up the beach a bit. A young man in blue shorts had been casting into the surf for fish all afternoon. He had a few small ones in his yellow bucket. I admired his tenacity but felt sorry for him. What kind of kid will keep on casting his line into the surf when he could be boogie-boarding or waverunning?

Anyway, guess what!!?? He got a big tarpon!

He had to have a friend help him when it came time to land it, and he even got into the surf to wrestle it down.  After everyone saw it, he released it back into the ocean.  Word around there was that there had been 3 or so 6-8 ft. sharks not too far out, so who knows the tarpon's fate?    The thing is:  everybody pretty much thought that kid was really dreaming, to keep on casting and casting.  But he just knew the big one was waiting for him, and he had the thrill of landing a nice tarpon from the shore.

Mike heard from brother Pete this morning. He just returned from MX fishing trip. He is all pumped up about his CORE. He said "My knees don't hurt and I can scratch my back for the first time in years!" (old separated shoulder in NFL)
