Okay, now that we've caught up a bit on Terra-bioTech's credentials for today, let me say GOOD MORNING! Great call last night with the Voice of TBT, Brad Clements - sounded like a bunch of you were on there, too. Enjoyed hearing the excitement about this company from the West Coast to the East Coast.
One thing Mike and I love about this biz is that it gets us out of the house and meeting some great people. Here's a highlight of a couple we met on our way to Dallas.
These guys are twins, grandfathers, and Canadians. They bought two pitiful-looking, stripped bare Kawasaki motorbikes for their odyssey, four-month, 4,000 mile trip to the bottom of South America, up through the Andes, and back home to Canada. We met them in SF on their leg home.
I asked them, "Are you writing a book?" No.
"Do you have a blog?" No.
"Did you film your trip?" No.
"Did you take pictures?" No.
They just wanted to do it, so they did. "We do have some great stories to tell our grandchildren," Paul said.
Well, I wouldn't have gone to such trouble without ALL of the above on my agenda! But, everyone's different. These guys were great fun and of course Mike has their contact info for TBT follow-up! They are going to need some SERIOUS injections of superfood to keep up with their adventure plans.
PS - one of their Kawasakis they bought used from a guy who rode it TO THE NORTH POLE.
And did you see the ESPN special last night about the Jamaican guy who, with no money or education, had a dream of himself racing a dog team in the Iditarod? So he went out, found some dogs (in Jamaica), set up a little track and began to train his dogs!! (I did not make this up -- who could?)
Anyway, that young man made it all come to pass -- with the help of a mentor who heard about his dream. He ran the Iditarod and finished in the 40th places, I think - with some frostbite and other minor injuries. But HE DID IT and was thrilled with his accomplishment!
The crazy thing is: no matter how far-fetched his dream, this amazing young Jamaican chased it. We are sure another dream awaits him.
That's one truth we've learned about Dreams: Dreams reward people who are Dream-PURSUERS, not people who are Dream-JUDGERS.
